Past Simple: yesterday and last week
Use the past simple for finished actions. Regular verbs add -ed; many common verbs are irregular.

കഴിഞ്ഞുപോയ കാര്യങ്ങൾക്ക് past simple ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നു. സാധാരണ ക്രിയകൾക്ക് -ed ചേർക്കും; go → went പോലെ ചിലതിന് പ്രത്യേക രൂപമുണ്ട്.
Regular verbs
work → worked, visit → visited, study → studied, stop → stopped.
- I worked late yesterday.
- We visited Mysuru last month.
Common irregular verbs
go → went, eat → ate, see → saw, buy → bought, come → came, have → had.
- She went to the market.
- I bought a new phone last week.
Negatives and questions
Use did / didn't + base verb.
- I didn't go to work.
- Did you eat breakfast?
Common mistakes
Yesterday I go to office.
Yesterday, I went to the office.
