Privacy policy

Last updated: 3 November 2026

PandaTalk is built to collect as little as possible. This policy explains what we store, why, and the choices you have. Operators who deploy PandaTalk should review and adapt this policy to their own deployment and local law.

What we store

  • Account: your email address (if you create an account) and the display name you choose.
  • Learning preferences: native language, English level, goals, daily target and app settings.
  • Learning records: conversation text you send and Panda's replies (you can turn this off), practice scores, saved words, streaks and achievements.
  • Usage logs: which AI provider answered, token counts and timestamps — no message content — so the service can be kept within free-tier limits.
  • Feedback you choose to send, including Panda replies you report.
  • Coins and purchases: your coin balance, unlocked items and coin orders (amount, date and Razorpay order/payment IDs).

What we never store

  • Voice recordings. Speech is turned into text by your browser's speech service. Only the text you decide to send reaches PandaTalk.
  • Card, UPI or bank details. Payments are handled entirely by Razorpay under their privacy policy.
  • Your contacts or precise location.

Demo Mode

If you use PandaTalk without an account, everything is stored only in your browser on this device. Clearing your browser data removes it.

Voice and AI processing

Browser speech recognition may be processed by your browser vendor (for example Google for Chrome) under their terms. When an AI provider is configured, the text of your messages and recent conversation context are sent to that provider to generate Panda's replies. API keys stay on our server.

Cookies and similar storage

  • Necessary: sign-in cookies and on-device storage for your settings and offline lessons. PandaTalk can't work without these.
  • Advertising (only if you tap “Accept all”): Google AdSense may show ads on public pages (home, lessons list, grammar and vocabulary) and use cookies to show and measure ads. Ads never appear inside chats with Panda or lessons. Learn how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can change your choice by clearing this site's data in your browser.

Who can see your data

Your learning records are protected by database row-level security so that only you can read them. Administrators can manage content and see aggregate statistics; they cannot read your conversations.

Your choices

  • Turn off “Save conversation transcripts” in Settings.
  • Export all your data as a file from Settings.
  • Delete your learning data, or your whole account, from Settings at any time. See how to delete your account.

Children

PandaTalk is intended for learners aged 13 and over. Younger learners should use it with a parent or teacher. The optional “Full masala” attitude and 18+ word packs contain strong language and are only for adults who confirm they are 18 or older.
